Been learning from Nick at Lessons in Your Home since February (piano lessons) and it is going great. Love the fact that they come to your home and the prices are fair, plus I can just pay online. We've had to move a few lessons around due to me being sick and then for work reasons, but they've been flexible and I feel I'm getting my money's worth.read more

LIYH has been life changing for our family. Scott worked for months with me to find the perfect teacher that fit with our crazy, busy life. Sophie is our dream teacher. She is so upbeat, friendly, professional, kind, and makes me want to practice. I just played for 10 minutes while my girls ate lunch. She is great at communicating with us and always lets us know if she is running late or will be out of town. Our daughter has seen continued growth while under her tutelage. Working with Lessons in Your Home so far has been great. I was hesitant to find a new cello instructor because I loved my last one so much. I was worried I would get an instructor that just goes through a book without challenging me and delving into deeper musical theory. I have been pleasantly surprised by the calibre of instructor I have been working with from Lessons in Your Home. Communication with the instructor and other staff of Lessons with your Home has been easy and timely. The only reason I take off a star (would only take off half, if possible) is the way you are billed. It's aimed more at younger students with a more set schedule, so you are billed monthly, instead of per lesson. But, I guess the flip side is it really makes you not miss any lessons (they will do a make up lesson if possible too). Overall, this I definitely suggest trying this service. They do want you to find a good student-teacher match and do not pressure you into signing up for anything you are not completely comfortable with.read more

I'm really enjoying my son's at-home guitar lessons! It's so convenient to learn in the comfort of our own space. My son is making great progress with the guitar, and his instructor, Erik, is excellent at explaining techniques. Erik has done an incredible job building up my son's confidence! The flexible scheduling allows me to fit lessons around my work and other family commitments. Overall, learning guitar from home has been a fantastic experience that I'd highly recommend to others interested in picking up an instrument.read more

Our daughter is a violinist in intermediate orchestra at her middle school and wanted an extra boost with her learning (no previous lessons outside of school class). We found Lessons in Your Home via online search. Scott got back to us right away. While we were waitlisted for in-person lessons, we were able to connect with a virtual teacher, Grace, right away. Within about a month to 1.5 months, we were connected with an in-person teacher, Daniel. Both Grace and Daniel are great teachers, able to adjust to teaching an ensemble student (vs a solo student), and gave our daughter great tips on playing the violin better on her own and in the group setting.read more

We recently enrolled our 9 yr old daughter in weekly LIYH guitar lessons. When we were initially evaluating options, we reached out to a few different sites. Scott got back to us quickly and fielded a couple rounds of questions. His clear but warm responses caused us to give it a shot. Our daughter was paired with Drew. While she's our precocious princess, she has been known to wear out the average adult. Not Drew! He's able to keep up with her energy AND keep her focused (magic!). He's kind, patient, and encouraging. It has been a pleasure to observe the sessions. Oh...and our daughter LOVES IT!read more

This review is late in coming because we've had a very busy summer, but I just want to call out Lessons in Your Home and specifically our teacher Paul Anderson. Our son has some motor challenges because he is a brain tumor survivor, so we pursued piano lessons for him not only as a hobby but because music is obviously a really great rehabilitation tool. Paul was the best! He always met our son where he was on the skill level and made the lessons so fun for him. Paul ALWAYS went above and beyond. He even came out to our house to tune our piano. He also endured a great personal tragedy while he was our son's teacher, yet he always showed up for lessons and gave our son his full attention.Our son is now attending college and had to hang up his piano lessons due to his study load, but if you have the chance to get Paul as your child's teacher, you should take it!read more

I let them know of our (complicated) availability and they were able to match us with a teacher who did both piano and violin since my son didn't know which one he wanted to do. I started playing drums later in life and began taking drum lessons during COVID on Zoom. The previous instructor I had was unable to continue doing lessons, so I googled lessons in the area and found Lessons In Your Home. I wanted to try lessons in my home where the instructor comes to me, and I can play on my own drum kit. I was assigned Yousef who has been a great teacher. They are patient, breaks things down for me, and gives lessons in a way that is conducive to my learning style and abilities. Yousef assigns homework every week which not only helps to improve my skills but keeps me accountable to practice before our next lesson. I'm having a blast so far and recommend both Lessons in Your Home and Yousef as an instructor.read more

Lincoln and I are both taking piano lessons from Lessons In Your Home. Our piano teacher, Tom is so patient with us! The lessons are a good balance of skill building and theory. Tom continues to add more to our repertoire and keeps us learning and growing in this new skill. He’s even working with Lincoln on some original composition! It’s also pretty neat that Tom sings…it’s nice when he adds that to the lesson as it helps us ”hear” how the song is supposed to sound. With our busy schedules, it’s so convenient to have Tom come to our home; he’s also really flexible with adjusting schedules in case we have a conflict. Lessons in your home has been a musical blessing for our family! Carson comes home and teaches guitar and piano for my 2 kids. It was first of all great to find a teacher who can teach both instruments in the comfort of our home! Yay ...we don't have to drive our kids on their music days! Carson is an awesome teacher and my kids love and adore him! Both my kids( 7 and 9 year old) have different personalities and he definitely knows how to connect with each of them and make them feel comfortable. They have developed a love for music and I am so thankful to Carson for inspiring them in their journey. LIYH has been great so far for our 5 year old turning 6. (Vincent), our piano teacher is very thoughtful, patient, and teaches at a pace that is suitable for our young child. He explains concepts in ways a 5 year old would understand and makes learning piano not a "lesson" but a fun activity. We were able to find a guitar teacher (David) for my 2 boys , he has been with us for 2 years and I cant praise him enough as to how my kids have consistently stayed interested. This service in my opinion is really cool as the rates are reasonable and everything is automated, Scott the manager is awesome as well just like Jay ( the previous manager). Recently they were able to find a drum teacher for me . His name is Brad, and I cant praise him enough. Been taking lessons for a month now and he is surely an expert and a great teacher.
