About William Waldron

William Waldron is teacher who believes that there is music in all of us waiting to get out. In some of us the music is already at the surface; in others it is a bit deeper and needs more time to show itself. Both need some guidance to polish it and make the performer shine.

William's music background goes back to his childhood in rural upper Michigan. His parents were people who loved to listen to music. William started to play the trombone in fifth grade and continued playing in bands and orchestras through graduation from Northwestern University.

After graduation from Northwestern, William was employed as the music teacher for the Baraga Township Schools in Baraga, Michigan where he taught K-12 music for two years. Then he left to take a music position with the Department of Defense Dependents' Schools in Sasebo Japan (K-12 four years), St. David's Bermuda (K-12 eight years), Daegu South Korea (K-12 ten years), Camp Kinser Okinawa Japan (1-6 six years), and Osan AB Pyongtaek South Korea (6-12 nineteen years and Pre-K-5 one year). Throughout the assignments, William performed in or directed organizations from the local country.

While in Bermuda, William performed with the Bermuda Philharmonic Society Orchestra and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society Orchestra in productions of "The Pirates of Penzance," "Iolanthe," "The Mikado," "H.M.S. Pinnefore," "The Gondoliers," and "Patience." He was also the musical director for the society's production of "Ruddigore."

In Daegu, South Korea, William played with the Daegu City Orchestra in a presentation of An, E Taek's "Symphonie Korea," and sang in their performance of Handel's "Messiah."
