About Valerie Sapienza
Valerie Sapienza began playing piano at the age of 3. She was classically trained for the next 15 years of her life, where she competed in various piano competitions and participated in different music festivals, state-run assessments, and National Piano Guild auditions. She completed up to the highest level (level 12) in both music theory (aural and written) and piano performance through Florida State Music Teacher's Association.
Ms. Sapienza has her Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and has continued to incorporate music in her life throughout her academic career. She is both a volunteer and session leader for Mind & Melody, a non-profit organization that performs and teaches basic music lessons to dementia patients in nursing homes.
Valerie enjoys sharing the joy of music and finds it to be healing. She loves that music is a universal language and can create a bond between anyone. Valerie could not imagine her life without music and loves spreading her passion to her students. She has experience with students from elementary school to college level.
