About Stewart Rabin

Stewart Rabin is the Orchestra Director/Guitar Teacher at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland FL. where he has taught in the fine arts department for 8 years.

Stewart studied applied trumpet performance at University of Miami, SUNY Purchase and at Florida International University where he studied with well known trumpeter Arturo Sandoval for 3 years. He's lived and played overseas, settling in Bogota Colombia where he played in groups with Mingo Lewis (Santana, The Tubes, David Bowie) Antonio Arnedo (Carlos Vives, Thelonious Monk Jazz finalist) Chucho Merchan (The Eurhythmics, Thomas Dolby, Pete Townsend) and also toured with the Armando Manzanero.

Stewart is active as a studio session trumpet player (making recordings) and he has recorded commercials for Nestle, Chevrolet and many others. He had his own group (The Stewart Rabin Project). He also had an original composition "Blues for Stew" choreographed by Christopher Flemming, principal dancer with the NYC Ballet.

Stewart has been fortunate to have shared the stage and performed with Cachao, Arturo Sandoval, Freddie Hubbard, Hiram Bullock, Delmar Brown, Johnny Benitez, Charly Garcia and many others well known musicians and producers.

Stewart is currently a member of "The Miami Jazz Project" he has an original style and is a captivating and thought-provoking player/performer with tremendous technical ability.
