About Stephanie Scheer
Stephanie Scheer was born with a love for music, art and writing. With a family of cello, violin, piano and flute players (2 professionals), a piano teacher, plus 4 Frank Lloyd Wright apprenticed architects, she felt the beauty of their passions and followed suit. She studied piano first from the aunt that was the teacher, then as she grew, became absorbed with learning guitar and violin as well. Once in college at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville, while piano was her main focus, she also studied harpsichord and pipe organ playing for a brief period to expand her keyboard knowledge.
Graduating with a double major in music and art, with an emphasis in piano teaching. While still a student, she married a High School Vocal Music teacher. Thus began a long career of professional accompanying as principal pianist, including choirs, show choirs, solos, duets, trios, and musicals. Though that was wonderful, her true passion was giving piano lessons for about 40 years - having as many as 30-40 students a week. With a love for children, through giving lessons, she developed a "whole arts approach". In addition to regular lessons, once a month, she would have a group lesson where students experienced integrating art, Nature, composing, games, other instruments, improvisation, movement, singing, and even cooking, into one marvelous event.
Her teaching is built on a classical approach. She welcomes and teaches ages from young beginners to advanced students.
