About Scott Zody
Hailing from Brea, California, Scott Zody was initially a self-taught drummer for many years during his youth. He decided to take the plunge towards a more formal music education in 2009 to attend the Atlanta Institute of Music. After finishing his program, he subsequently started playing in local Atlanta bands and teaching music lessons.
Scott has since played in several local metal & punk bands, as well as gone on a National tour with the outlaw country/surf western band "Andrea Colburn & Mud Moseley" back in 2018. In addition to his passion for teaching, Scott currently plays drums in several heavy projects/bands around Atlanta & the regional area.
Although his background is primarily drums, Scott believes in overall well-rounded musicality and has been playing piano/keys since his time at the Atlanta Institute of Music. His mantra for teaching is: "I won't just teach you routine licks. There's the internet for that! I want to show you a practical & effective way to express yourself on the drums & piano." Scott strives to keep his students engaged by giving them informative lessons, yet most of all keeping it FUN!
