About Scott Langstaff

Motivated by his deep love of music, Scott Langstaff, piano teacher, voice teacher, has devoted much time and effort in developing his skills as a musician. After embarking on a study of his first love, singing, he soon took advantage of the opportunity to study piano as well. After studying privately with fine Seattle area instructors, Linda Elder, Ruel Lubag, and publicly with Janet Hitt and Kristina Ploeger, he continues to pursue excellence as a professional and a teacher. He's had the privilege of participating in the Student/Professional Jam session hosted by Seattle Pacific University as well as the Frank DeMiero Jazz Camp.

Scott is passionate about music education and the privilege of guiding others in their musical journey. He believes in the power of music to reach deep inside and touch the heart, to initiate or intensify desire, to inspire creativity and to be a source of joy and fun. Though he enjoys teaching and playing all types of music, Scott is most at home on the bandstand playing and/or singing Jazz. While teaching music is his focus, he continues to pursue his other interests including hiking, running, astronomy and bible education. He also endeavors to honor his responsibilities as a husband and father.
Scott's commitment is to opening the way to education and discovery.
