About Rachel Love
Rachel Love is from a small farming town in southern Wisconsin where she started taking piano lessons from a local teacher named Caroline Hilliard in 2004. Mrs. Hilliard was well known in Monticello and had taught generations of families. Even Rachel's older sister took piano lessons from Mrs. Hilliard.
Rachel's singing journey started differently than the path she took for piano. She was in middle school and high school choir but did not start taking voice lessons until 2016 from another local teacher named Shayla. Rachel was very involved in her choir and was even given the role of alto section leader and received a reward for her dedication in the form of an engraved conductor's baton her senior year.
Miss Love performed in many events with both of her main instruments. She performed at her high school's cabaret night as a soloist and was given the opportunity to do an opera piece, "Duet for Cats," with her choir director Miss Kim Becker. Rachel was very involved with choir and her ambition pushed her to compete in solo ensemble competitions for both instruments. In 2017 she went to state solo ensemble with a perfect score for her performance.
Miss Love was involved in other school affiliated groups like Big Brothers and Big Sisters. For three years every Thursday during the school year, she volunteered and helped elementary and middle school kids with their homework. She made a special connection with her group of kids and went on to perform a couple of piano duets with a student from Big Brothers Big Sisters for piano recitals.
After graduating from Monticello High School, Rachel Love attended the University of Stevens Point Wisconsin for general education. During her time there, she took opera and musical theatre voice lessons from a professor at UWSP, Lisa Golda. After a year and a half taking general education and psychology courses Miss Love sent in an audition for CU Denver where she will receive her Bachelor's Degree for Music Performance in the Spring of 2023.
Outside of school, Rachel can be found exploring the Denver area. She moved back to Colorado in 2021 and has been enjoying getting to know the different areas of Colorado. She also enjoys spending time with friends and annoying her cat, Noelle. Miss Love also spends her free time creating her own music.
