About Pam Lawrence

Pamela Lawrence has been singing her entire life. Growing up singing in church, she started to explore other musical outlets by studying the clarinet throughout middle school and high school. By the time Pamela reached her last two years in high school, she was very involved in both band and chorus. Upon graduation, she knew she wanted a career in music and she chose to go with the instrument that she had known the longest, voice. She entered the music program at Jacksonville State University, where she studied voice with Teresa Stricklin and the art of performing from Dr. Nathan Wight and Eric Traynor. She also has been a key performer in many of JSU's spring musicals and Jacksonville Opera Theater's many operas. Pamela graduated in 2009 with a BA in Music Education. Although Pamela has spent the bulk of her education studying classical voice, she also has a deep passion for musical theater. Pamela's diverse background makes her not only a versatile artist, but a versatile teacher as well! She has experience teaching classical, musical theater, pop, gospel and country styles of singing. She has been known to teach her share of clarinet students, too.
