About Neil Young
Born in Atlanta, Neil began playing guitar after being inspired by a bluegrass show at the Grand Ole Opry when he was 12 years old. Shortly after, he began taking lessons from Atlanta blues icon, "Chicago" Joe Jones, and at the age of 16, began teaching alongside him as an instructor at the Atlanta Rock and Blues Camp.
His guitar teacher became a mentor, both musically and in helping Neil to develop a strong work ethic and the music environment he provided is one in which Neil met my closest friends.
Due to this mentorship and mentoring of his own, Neil plays and comfortably teaches a variety of genres, from R&B to Hard Rock, with particular proficiencies in blues and classic rock. Teaching has always been a passion of his, and the ability to positively impact someone's life by helping them to develop their music as a creative outlet is the most enriching part of his life.
