About Monikah Smith
Monikah "Irie" Smith is a passionate music teacher and artist who believes that everyone has special gifts they can tap in to. At the age of five, Irie started writing her own songs and singing, inspired by the likes of her grandmother and other talented family members. In middle school, she started learning how to rap and produce her own music and later got involved in her school's choir team, performing at open mic nights, and leading in the band at church on Sundays. This eventually lead her to furthering her music studies after graduating from Gwynn Park High School. Irie went on to attend Morgan State University as a music major where she joined her first HBCU College as a MSU Choir member. The experiences she had in school encouraged Irie to move to Atlanta to further pursue her passion of music as a career.
Always hungry to advance her craft, Irie enrolled at the Omnittech Institute where she specialized in digital multi-media production, social media marketing, and audio/sound production. Now, Irie primarily teaches voice and piano with a fun and engaging style that her students really enjoy. Her biggest passion is helping her students achieve their goals and gain confidence through music.
