About Matthew Chiorazzi

After graduating from the University of Arizona, Matthew Chiorazzi decided to pack up everything in his Mini-Cooper and move up to the Pacific Northwest to pursue teaching. He earned his BA in Elementary Education with an English as a Second Language Endorsement and started off substitute teaching in the Bellevue area. Matthew has been playing all types of instruments since elementary school, first taking piano lessons for three years and then moving on to guitar. He first started taking standard and then classical lessons before finally moving on to collaboration with other musicians in the Tucson and now, Seattle, area. He plays a collection of instruments including: guitar, ukulele, mandolin, bass, and synthesizer (piano).

Matthew is currently in the process of recording an EP as his first solo project. Over the past five years he has been creating and composing with the final goal of touring the United States and eventually, overseas. Music has always been a constant in his life and now it's a lifestyle. He plays at various open mics around the Seattle area to showcase his songs and gain experience on stage. Aside from music his other passion lies in education.

For the past ten years, Matthew has been enjoying working with kids ages 4-18 in various educational settings. He believes in a student oriented, teacher-facilitated environment. Music education should be fun, because then it becomes something you want to practice! He strives to make learning a more positive experience for his students so that they may want to continue discovery on their own.
