About Masaki Kleinkopf
Masaki is an active jazz trombonist, composer and educator in the Denver/Boulder area. He holds the BM degree in Jazz Studies from CU-Boulder, where he studied with Paul McKee and played in the Downbeat award winning Concert Jazz Ensemble. Masaki is active in numerous groups and has performed at Dazzle, Nocturne, the Mercury Café and many other venues in Denver with groups such as Fire It Up Brass Band, Guerilla Fanfare, Third Circle and Mostly Harmless. When not performing in jazz and funk styles, Masaki has a passion for avant-garde, free and electroacoustic music, as evidenced by his time in the Boulder Laptop Orchestra (Blork). Outside of music he enjoys being in the mountains and is a huge supporter of the Colorado Avalanche.
