About Mary Drayer

With a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from TCU, a Bachelor of Music in Education from SMU and a Texas State Lifetime All Level Music Certification, Mary Drayer has sung in the Dallas Opera, Ft. Worth Opera, Lyric Opera of Dallas, Deep Ellum Opera Theatre, Dallas Symphony, Ft. Worth Symphony, Garland Summer Musicals, various churches throughout the Metroplex as soloist and section leader and Renaissance Festivals from coast to coast and border to border beginning with Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie. Performing is her love but teaching is her passion. For 38 years, Ms. Drayer has been a private voice teacher in Garland, Mesquite, Rockwall and Sunnyvale ISDS. Ms. Drayer has had numerous 3 and 4-year All-Staters from her studio, as well as many former students who have become professional singers in contemporary Christian, Country and pop genres and music teachers.

Voice lessons include warmups which work on vocal technique, sight reading skills and music preparation. Work on All City/Region Choir, as well as, class choir music. There are four solo performance opportunities offered through the year. In October, UIL Art Song Recital for middle schools, Christmas Karaoke Coffee House in December, UIL Art Song Recital for high school in January, Broadway/Musical Theatre Recital in March and in May, Pop Recital.
