About Margaret Place
Margaret Place is a board-certified music therapist and music instructor providing services in the Orlando, FL area. She grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and earned her Bachelor's of Music in Music Therapy degree from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At Alverno, her primary instrument was vocal performance and she also developed her piano, guitar, and ukulele skills.
Margaret was a singer from an early age, and began performing in theater at 10 years old. She was in musicals throughout middle and high school (character credits include Cinderella in Cinderella, Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical, and Dorothy Brown in Thoroughly Modern Millie), and was also involved in state-level choirs, show choir, and sang in a rock band (This Side Up).
After finishing her undergraduate coursework, she completed her internship at Bridgeway Academy (a school for children with autism and other developmental disabilities in Columbus, Ohio) in 2019, and subsequently got married, moved to Orlando, passed her music therapy board certification exam, and began her career as a music therapist with a private practice in the area.
Margaret is excited to be a part of the Lessons in Your Home team, sharing her passion for all things musical with her students. Having the unique opportunity to develop relationships with clients, students, and families as a music therapist and as a music teacher is a blessing and an honor.
