About Leah Tidwell
Leah has been playing the piano for 18 years. She loves playing and decided to pursue music in college. She received a bachelors of arts degree in music from Southern Virginia University. While at Southern Virginia University she took private lessons in piano, guitar and voice as well as singing in the university concert chorale. Additionally, while in college she volunteered with various music programs for seniors in the area.
Leah went on to pursue music therapy and passed her board certification in music therapy in April of 2018. She worked as a music therapist in a music therapy clinic serving developmental disabilities.
Leah has been teaching private piano lessons for over the past 4 years. She has taught in a music store as well as in home lessons. She has taught a variety of students ages from 4 to adults of various skill levels. She is passionate about music and loves to share that with others. Her goal is to adapt lessons to her students needs and help them reach their goals. She seeks to help them work toward independence in reading music and have an enjoyable time while doing it.
Her favorite music to play is Chopin or Debussy. When she is not at the piano Leah loves hiking, reading, cooking, ice cream and exploring the outdoors. She looks forward to helping you reach you piano playing goals.
