About James Robinson
A native of St. Louis, James Robinson spent time performing with many fine ensembles including the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, the St. Louis Philharmonic, Alarm Will Sound, and multiple community groups. He studied with Reese Land at the University of Louisville, where he earned his bachelor's degree in trumpet performance. While there, he held principal roles with the University of Louisville Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and the Intercollegiate Wind Band, gaining the opportunity to premiere new works and record with local talent. In his senior year at the University, James was selected to play both a solo and an ensemble work in the National Trumpet Competition. He spends time teaching and gigging around the area, performing with groups such as Chamber Winds Louisville, Unaffiliated Brass, Louisville Brass Band, and the Kentucky Philharmonic. James plans on continuing his study of trumpet at the graduate level and beyond.
