About Iwona Augustyn
A native from Poland, violinist Iwona Augustyn is a versatile performer and experienced pedagogue. As a performer, Ms. Augustyn has won several international competitions, the 1st Prize on 26th Young Musician International Competition "Citta di Barletta"(05/2016) and 2nd Prize on 19th General Competition for Young Musicians in Kielce (06/2012), the Rotary International's Scholarship (12/2017 - 08/2019), the Kielce Scholarship for gifted artists "Talenty swi?tokrzyskie" (06/2018) and a scholarship for the most talented students of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (10/2014 - 06/2018).
Ms. Augustyn has been able to perform with several orchestras in the U.S and abroad. Her appointments at Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic, Capella Bydgostiensis, Torun Symphony Orchestra, and recently her debut in the US with the Orchestra of Moores School of Music as a concertmaster for "Don Giovanni" and "La finta semplice," make Ms. Augustyn an accomplished orchestral performer. She was also a concertmaster on the 14th International Youth Symphony Summer Program in 2019.
As a versatile violinist, Ms. Augustyn has explored baroque performance with Cappella Gedanensis and Baroque Orchestra of Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy which are renowned baroque orchestras which are used to play with period instruments.
Ms. Augustyn's interest to share her musical passion led her to gather experience as a teacher. Her pedagogical approach is based on patience, understanding and an individualized program for every student.
Ms. Augustyn holds a B.M and M.M in violin performance at Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy. Currently she is finishing baroque violin studies at Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy and an M.M in violin performance at University of Houston.
Since early, 2021 she has taught violin and piano in River Oaks Music School, Rockin' Rockin Music Lessons, and Lessons In Your Home. She is locally involved with groups such as the Andromeda Duet, Moores School of Music Symphony Orchestra, and the Virtuosi of Houston.
