About Hermes Castillo
Professor Castillo has dedicated all his years of life to what he love's most, after his daughter, music. At the age of eight, He began his music studies at the Vocational School of Arts in Matanzas, Cuba. In this institution, he attended his first seven years of musical instruction in the specialty of Choral Direction. Later, He continued for four more years in Havana, Cuba, obtaining the degree of Intermediate Level in Choral Direction after graduation, He traveled to Colombia where He did a specialization in Piano Performance at the Reformed University of Barranquilla.
He has conducted choirs and given piano lessons at various universities and schools in multiple countries worldwide. He worked for four years as assistant director at the Honduran Philharmonic Association and the Filarmonia conservatory. Also, at the University of Barquisimeto, Venezuela. He has participated in chamber music festivals, Cartagena Music Festival, Colombia. Since 2013 He has founded and directed his music academy in Dallas, Texas.
