The goal of my lessons is to help students enjoy music. Through listening, singing, clapping, and playing, I take students through material that we both like and help them expand their abilities and understanding. I cater my material to each person's needs while including techniques to improve fundamentals.
As a professional musician, I perform a huge variety of styles for many occasions. As a college student, I studied traditional and modern jazz styles as well as Afro-Cuban and Brazilain genres. Between degrees, I performed on the cruise ships of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines around the world for thousands of guests. During this time, I developed an understanding of classic Motown, Pop, R&B, Broadway Musical, and Rock styles. I was a member of the award-winning Bad Cactus Brass Band in my hometown of Phoenix, AZ and a member of the Los Wedos Salsa band in Denton, TX. I use all this experience to expose students to a wide variety of musical possibilities and techniques to further their musical journey.
