About Hannah Dokupil

Hannah Dokupil holds a Bachelor of Music Pedagogy from the Wheaton College Conservatory in Illinois. She studied solo piano with Daniel Paul Horn and Aaron Stampfl, and her pedagogical studies were guided by Beth Bauer, Karin Edwards, and Mary Hopper. Hannah has had extensive music teaching experience with kids of all ages and abilities, including her own private students, Beethoven's Buddies - a music program for children with special needs, MusikGarten, and honors conducting for the Wheaton College Women's Chorale. Hannah has also taught numerous other subjects including recreational gymnastics and public speaking.

Hannah's educational vision is to create an environment of learning where children can understand they are valuable, capable, and that their efforts are not wasted. She hopes to communicate to children that they are a part of something larger than themselves, and thereby the importance of their participation in the arts and community. Her teaching philosophy includes the deep belief that children are as human and as capable as the next - and as a teacher feels it is a great privilege and responsibility to participate in their lives.

Currently Hannah works full-time as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), providing one-on-one services to kids with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and is the beginning orchestra conductor for the South Sound Suzuki Strings. Besides teaching, Hannah enjoys spending time outdoors in the forests of the Pacific Northwest where she grew up, rock climbing, reading, and spending time with her brothers.
