About Gina Noh

Gina has been playing the violin since she first began lessons at the age of ten. She avidly studied the violin with private lessons and additionally got involved with local school and community orchestras from elementary school to high school. She also enjoyed giving back to the community by performing for a special-needs student group at her local church. On acceptance into the University Of Mary Washington (UMW), Gina joined the UMW Philharmonic Orchestra and played with the ensemble for all four years of her college career. There, Gina received annual "Friends of the Orchestra" Scholarship honors and awards. She also founded and organized the UMW String Quartet (formerly known as the Williams Street Quartet) where she was able to perform for weddings, corporate events, private parties, etc. with a smaller ensemble. In her first year with the Philharmonic, Gina traveled and performed in a 2 week tour of Italy. She has had the opportunity to play alongside several esteemed guests and artists including the former Miss America Caressa Cameron, Sir James Galway, Jay Ungar, Molly Mason and the Family Band, Kenny Rogers, and Issac Perlman.

Gina loves to play her violin named "Romeo" with a full range of classic and contemporary repertoire under her belt; from Mozart to Aaron Copeland. She additionally enjoys playing the electric violin and pushing the boundaries of classical music. As her secondary instruments, Gina teaches viola and voice through a range of classical, musical theater and popular styles.

Gina is very passionate about sharing performance art forms with her students and hopes to inspire the rising generation to become involved in the artistic community. Gina additionally teaches dance (ballet to hip hop) to students where she is able to utilize her music and performance background. She believes that playing an instrument and learning about music is a great way for students to express themselves. She loves to teach in a fun and engaging way, focusing on catering the lessons to her individual students. Gina is a great lover of violin, music and performance and aspires to continue to motivate and educate her students.
