About Emily Wangler
Emily Wangler is a passionate educator and performer in Colorado. She currently serves as Associate Principal of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and regularly performs with groups such as the Centennial State Ballet Orchestra and Longmont Chorale. She is also a member of Cairn Music, a chamber group dedicated to event music in the Estes Park area. Emily was the clarinetist in the University of Colorado's Graduate Woodwind Quintet for two years, performing regular recitals as well as creating outreach programs throughout the state of Colorado.
As an educator, Emily is versatile and strives to instill a love of music and learning in her students. She teaches clarinet, flute, and saxophone to all levels, and her clarinet students have been accepted into music programs in large universities. In her time working in public schools as a certified K-12 teacher, Emily has taught all levels of band, beginner guitar, and elementary and middle school general music. She has also taught at many schools in the southeast Michigan area as a woodwind sectional coach and band camp instructor.
Emily holds a master's degree in clarinet performance and pedagogy from University of Colorado Boulder and undergraduate degrees in clarinet performance and music education from the University of Michigan. Her primary teachers include Daniel Silver, Daniel Gilbert, and Chad Burrow.
