About Elizabeth Ross

Ellie Ross, a violinist, earned her Bachelor's degree in music from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Majoring in Music Industry, she not only studied violin performance, but she also studied audio engineering, business, and other aspects of music such as theory and history. Picking up the violin during her fifth grade year, she has played and performed since 2005. She remained in the top of her orchestras during school and attended district and regional events while training with Teresa Browndorf in Virginia Beach, VA. She continued performing in college with Old Dominion University's Symphony, as well as the Tidewater Trio and other chamber groups under the direction of Anastasia Migliozzi. Throughout her years at Old Dominion University, she studied with Jeannie Dedominick, a violinist in the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. She also took master classes with Vaughan Williams, the concertmaster of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and she attended a master class run by the Harlem Quartet with her trio group.

Ellie has performed in many weddings as a soloist or a member of a quartet. Before this, she volunteered with her high school quartet to play at fundraising events throughout her city. She has also played in the pit orchestra for school musicals such as "Guys and Dolls," "Kiss me Kate," "Camelot," and "The Medium." She likes to play all types of music, not just classical. For example, she performed on the electric violin with an acoustic guitarist and singer for the "Neon Festival" in Norfolk, Virginia.

Ellie is truly passionate about teaching. She has taught various lessons and masterclasses throughout her high school and college years. She enjoys sharing her passion for music to inspire her students to not only practice and learn technique on their instrument, but to love playing and performing.

When Ellie is not practicing or performing, she pursues other interests such as fencing, swing dancing, or baking cupcakes. She is also a barista who continues to practice making the perfect cappuccino or latte. In addition to these, she records music and enjoys audio engineering. Through her studies of performing, editing, and creating music, she has seen how much music can positively influence an individual's life. Through teaching, she hopes to inspire her students, challenge her students, and help them to discover the joy that music can bring.
