About Deon Johnson
Deon Johnson has been a conductor and educator since 2010. He has directed the performances of Ensembles throughout North Texas and in Tennessee and holds a Bachelors of Arts in Music from Lane College, Jackson Tennessee, and a Masters' degree in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Throughout the years he has participated in various ensembles: Grambling State University Concert and Marching Band, University of Memphis Marching Sounds of the Mid-South, and the Dallas Mass Band. He currently serves as the Student Affairs coordinator at a local university in the DFW Metroplex. Before this role, he served as the Director of Bands at Focus Learning Academy, Dallas Texas, and Graduate Assistant to the Texas Wesleyan University Wind Ensemble. He is apart of the Young Black Professionals of Dallas, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, and Phi Beta Lambda Professional Business Fraternity.
