About Deborah Edquist
Mezzo soprano, Deborah Paola Edquist, is pursuing a degree in Music Education at the University of Houston. Deb has been involved in music for most of her life, and she began taking her music studies more seriously during high school, when she began singing both classically and in musicals. Since graduating, Deb has returned to her high school to direct musical productions such as Once Upon a Mattress and Pippin.
These experiences sparked her desire to pursue a degree in voice, and she now sings with Moores School of Music's Concert Chorale and studies voice under Alicia Gianni. Edquist is also Choral Scholarship Singer at Moody Methodist Church in Galveston, Texas. Additionally, Deb was recently named a semi-finalist in the Nina International Solo Competition in Bergen, Norway. Edquist plans to pursue a career as a high school choir director in the future.
Deb values the relationships she builds with her students as they create and work together, and looks forward to working with students to find their own passion for music.
