About Dana Wilson

Dana Wilson's soulful playing has been recognized as one that "would stand up anywhere from New York to Los Angeles". Her musical studies have led her to acceptance in Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program and completion of her undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at Andrews University. She has attended prominent summer arts institutions where she studied with world-renown faculty such as Alan Bodman, Ann Setzer, Itzak Rashkovsky, Janet Sung, Emanuel Borok, and Kevin Lawrence. Dana has won Southern Adventist University's Concerto Competition and Andrews University's Young Artist Competition. She served as concertmaster for the Andrews University Orchestra, leading them in tours across Eastern Europe.

Dana demonstrates her passion for the arts as a leader, educator, and performer. She serves with the purpose of using human empathy to increase the quality of artistic performance. Her leadership and advocacy have resulted in taking on diversity, equality, and inclusion positions at Interlochen Arts Camp and Heifetz Institute where she provided resources and training to strengthen disconnectedness among students, faculty, and staff. Dana's mission also translates to her love for teaching. She is the primary instructor for the Southwest Michigan Symphony's Music Makers Program, providing string instrumental instruction for young students in Benton Harbor, Michigan and she has also maintained her own violin studio since 2011.
