About Brianna Slone

Brianna is currently the assistant band director at Hillgrove High School and has been teaching privately since 2013. Brianna Slone graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in music education. During her time at UGA, Ms. Slone studied flute with Angela Jones-Reus- former principal flautist of the Berlin Philharmonic. She also attended masterclasses taught by renowned flute players Marianne Gedigian, Ransom Wilson, Nicole Esposito, Julie Hobbs and Michael Hasel. While at UGA, she performed regularly with the University Symphony Orchestra, Hodgson Wind Ensemble and UGA Redcoat band. Ms. Slone was a recipient of the Charles Patterson Sr. Memorial scholarship, UGA Foundation scholarship and UGA Redcoat Band scholarship.

Her specialities involve prepping students for placement auditions, honor band, GYSO, AYWS, all-state and GHP auditions. As a McEachern alumni and Cobb native, she has first hand experience in these auditions. Students will work on fundamentals, musicality, sight reading, confidence, overcoming performance anxiety and enjoying music to the fullest extent. Her teaching philosophy revolves around creating effective strategies to best serve the student and their goals.
