About Brian Skinner

Brian Skinner is a graduate of the University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. He began playing oboe in sixth grade, continuing into college with it as his primary instrument. There he studied privately with Lisa Sayre and participated in a number of ensembles, including the UWG Wind Symphony and the UWG Woodwind Quintet as well as playing a number of performances with the Carroll Symphony Orchestra. He was selected as one of the winners of the 2010 UWG Concerto Competition and performed with the Carroll Symphony Orchestra as a soloist. He has been teaching double reeds and brass privately since 2007.

Brian also preforms playing trumpet and has had extensive experience playing in both marching and concert settings. He has eight years of marching band experience in addition to concert band and pit orchestra performances. Brian has also acted as a brass clinician for high school bands.
