About Axel Vallejos

Axel Vallejos, a Chilean cellist, began his musical studies at age 11. He has performed chamber music and solos with orchestras throughout North, Central and South America, Europe, and East Asia. Axel has made frequent national and international appearances as a chamber and orchestra musician, participating in several summer festivals, including Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, SHMF (Germany) for four consecutive years, Latin American Festival of Chascomús (Argentina), International Music Academy of Solsona, AIMS Festival (Spain), Orchestra of the Americas (YOA), Zeist Music Days (Netherlands), Quartet Fellowship Program at Wintergreen Summer Music Festival (United States) and The Aronson Cello Festival (United States). Additionally, he has toured with the Ensemble Bartok, performing in Beijing, Seoul, London, and Málaga.

Axel has worked with a variety of students of all ages and skill levels for more than ten years. He is continuously involved in multiple projects, showing his dedication to the community as a teaching artist. His teaching philosophy is based on creating a positive and nurturing environment for students.

Axel is currently pursuing a second Master of Music degree at Rice University under the tutelage of Norman Fischer. He received his Bachelor of Music in cello performance at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, a Professional Performance Certificate and a Master of Music degree from Lynn University.
