About Ari Blackwell
Since Ari can remember, music has always been a passion of hers; growing up in church, she was always around music whether it was during the service or at home. Around the age of four, she joined her church's childrens' choir, and fell in love with singing and performing. Throughout the next few years of singing in choir, she realized she not only wanted to perform, but also wanted to learn how to play the piano. At the age of nine she began taking piano lessons, and vocal lessons at the age of twelve, and continued both until she finished college in California.
When Ari turned fifteen years old, she started giving piano lessons to some of the children in her church. She believes that experience sparked her interest in teaching children which ultimately resulted in her studying music theory and secondary education in college. During college, she performed many vocal and piano solos, and coordinated several vocal groups. She loved every moment of performing, but something about putting together a group, watching them get on stage, and hearing their performance filled her up with so much joy! She has always loved helping others reach their fullest musical potential, and that feeling is definitely why she continues to teach to this day.
After college, Ari continued teaching both group piano/vocal lessons and individual lessons. She also has done some performances at small coffee shops, hotel cocktail lounges, street fairs, and music festivals. In January 2017, Ari moved back to her home state of Washington where she now performs weekly at churches, and accompanies choirs, groups, and soloists. Although Ari loves performing, she will always love teaching music more! Music is and has definitely always been a passion of hers, and she hopes to spread her love of music to each one of her students.
