About Andrew Dugas
Andrew is a guitarist and composer in Houston. He received his Bachelor's from the Moores School of Music in 2013, after studying guitar with M. Wheeler and composition with M.K. Maroney.
With over 12 years of teaching and performing experience, he has maintained a studio of lessons while performing with numerous groups, most recently his band/collaborative ensemble Apparitions, who have worked with Seth Manchester, Matt Colton, and Michael Severson. Notable awards and performances include the 2016 Oregon Bach Festival Composer's Symposium, the Sarofim Young Composer's Competition (runner up), and Outstanding Soloist at the Addison Jazz Festival.
Through musical development, his teaching aims to ultimately encourage students to find whatever they most enjoy in lessons, whether it is developing creative independence or casually learning songs.
