About Amy Kopatich

Amy Kopatich is a Colorado native who attended Columbine High School. She recently retired from Jefferson County Public schools as a music teacher. She has a BME degree from Colorado State University and a MM degree in voice/pedagogy from The University of Colorado at Boulder.

Amy is a former chorister with Opera Colorado. Lead roles include "The Dew Fairy" in Hansel and Gretel and Papagena in "Die Zauberflöte." She was also a finalist in the Denver Lyric Opera Guild and The Metropolitan Opera. She started piano and violin in the third grade. Her first teachers were her parents. Both of her parents are retired Jefferson County music teachers.

At CSU, she studied voice and piano with Dr. John Lueck and Dr. Janet Landreth respectively. She played Polly Peachum in The Threepenny Opera with CSU's Opera Theater. At CU she played "Marsinah" in Kismet and Nella in Gianni Schicchi. Other roles include "Portia" in Cinderella and Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof at The Littleton Town Hall. Amy's hobbies include Zumba and hiking in Colorado's beautiful mountains. Her daughter will be attending CU in the fall as a music minor.
