About Adriana Aldunate

Adriana Aldunate is a classical pianist and music educator in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Adriana earned her Bachelors of Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County under the direction of Dr. Audrey Andrist. In her time at UMBC, she was an active member in the music department, performing with the UMBC New Music Ensemble, UMBC Chamber Ensemble, UMBC Jubilee Singers, UMBC Collegium, and more. While piano is her primary instrument and passion, she was an avid harpsichord and organist performer during her studies, as these were primary instruments used in Early-Baroque music and were played often in her Collegium ensembles.

Adriana is proficient in Spanish and has spent part of her music education in Barranquilla, Colombia studying at Universidad del Norte. In her time in Colombia, she performed as a soloist at music festivals and still enjoys being a performer in a local and international setting.

In her time in university, she discovered her love for teaching after conducting a music class as a visiting teaching at Linthicum Elementary School. Music is a form of self-expression and she is very passionate about teaching people this form of self-expression. Adriana has experience teaching students starting as young as at the age of 4 as well as students well into their adulthood, as the excitement to learn can be found at any age!

Adriana also holds two additional Bachelors of Arts in Economics and International Affairs from UMBC. Her vast interest and drive for learning is what motivated her to pursue three degrees, in addition to being a part of the UMBC Division I Women's Tennis Team. Her interests also include running with her dog, traveling, and reading.
