About Adam McCready
Adam has been teaching music since 2013 and graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he received a Bachelor of Music. Majoring in Music Composition and minoring in Music Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology, he received an extensive musical education. In this program, he composed everything from solo piano pieces to full scores for film/animation. On the tech side of things, Adam learned a great deal about the recording process at UArts and through an internship at Uniform Recording, an independent label in Philly. He is comfortable with Logic and Pro Tools and is an experienced live sound engineer as well.
Adam has performed in various bands over the years, most recently as a member of the rock duo adam+colin, where he served as guitarist/singer/songwriter. Guitar is his main instrument, but he teaches advanced bass and ukulele as well.
He is an easy-going and patient teacher who believes in trying to teach his students the music they love whenever possible. Over the years, he has learned that picking apart your favorite songs, seeing how and why they work, is often the most effective way to learn. Music should be fun, and Adam's teaching style reflects that.
