About Abbey Monreal
Abbey Monreal is a Piano, Voice, Theory, and Composition teacher based in the Washington, D.C. area. She earned her degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor's of Music Education, specializing in Choral and General music. She teaches both privately and in the classroom setting, and her students range from young beginners through adults.
In addition to teaching, Abbey is an avid composer. Several of her works have been performed across the country, including her piece "Water Music" which was selected for the Women Composers Festival of Hartford, Connecticut. Other awards include being selected as the winner for the 2020 MC3 Emerging Composers Competition and 2nd place for the 2022 Metropolitan Youth Orchestra Emerging Composers Competition.
In addition to teaching privately, Abbey will be teaching vocal and general music at Baltimore County Public Schools starting in the 2022 / 2023 school year.
