About Xiomara Sepulveda

Xiomara Sepúlveda, originally from Bucaramanga, Colombia, initiated her musical studies at the "Conservatorio de Música de Santander" at age nine. She continued her studies by being accepted into the national system of orchestras, "BATUTA" with performances throughout Colombia, as well as presentations in Chile and Venezuela.

Xiomara graduated from the "Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga" (UNAB) with her Bachelor of Music degree with the distinction of Cum Laude. In 2003, she moved to the United States to continue her musical studies.

Ms. Sepulveda graduated from the School of Music at Florida International University with a Master's Degree in Violin Performance. Under the guidance of professor-in-residence, Marcia Littley, ex-violinist of the world reknowned Amernet String Quartet.
At the present, Ms. Sepúlveda is the Principal Second Violinist with the Alhambra Orchestra. Starting the 2010 season, she was appointed Principal Second Violin with the Miami Lyric Opera. She continues to perform locally as a freelance musician and teaches privately at her own studio.

Xiomara is currently a Teaching Artist with the Miami Music Project in Little Haiti and Liberty city chapters.In the summer of 2018 she was honored to participate in the internationally acclaimed Trentino Music Festival in Trento, Italy. Xiomara performed Chamber Music, Opera and Symphonic programs while in attendance. South Florida Symphony 2019 season.
