About Paula Alizo
Paula Alizo was born and raised in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela. She started learning the piano and music theory at the age of six and made her orchestral debut at 13 with the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra. She then continued her musical studies in the Conservatory of Music "José Luis Paz" where she obtained her Diploma in Piano Performance.
She has performed in several venues in her native country, both solo and as an accompanist pianist, and with the Baroque Music Aggrupation "Capilla Musical Ricercare". She has also participated in master classes with renowned teachers such as Arnaldo Pizzolante, Alfredo Ovalles, Guiomar Narvaez, Emmanuel Strosser, Monique Duphil and Alessio Bax.
She obtained a special mention at the VII Piano Competition "Moisés Moleiro" and the V Four hands Piano Competition "Gerty Haas-Olga Modolfi".
She believes music is a personal journey and it's her goal as an educator to spark that desire for learning and enjoying the music, at whatever stage of that journey you may be. She aims to be a provider of the tools you need to understand and express that world of music you have inside, just as painters create their masterpieces. She is into teaching within a creative and comprehensive approach, and hearing and connecting with her student's goals. For her, being a teacher also means being a lifelong student and sees each discovery as an opportunity to improve her teaching and performing skills.
Besides being a musician, she is also a Civil Engineer and enjoys healthy cooking and exercising as part of her lifestyle.
