About Jenna Kramer

Jenna started playing violin when she was 8 years old in her hometown of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Jenna's earliest musical memory is watching her older brother playing guitar and piano and begging her mom to let her play violin. She can't remember how old she was but she has loved music ever since she can remember.

Jenna played violin all the way through school and currently attends the University of Colorado Boulder, where she is working toward her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. She received a large College of Music residential scholarship for her studies and will continue school to get her master's degree and doctoral degree in music performance when she finishes her undergraduate studies.

Jenna performs regularly at the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music, in classes and as part of the CU Symphony Orchestra. When she was 18 she performed with the Denver Young Artist's Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York City for the first time. She says that this was the highlight of her musical career so far.

Jenna's most influential teacher was her first teacher, Teresa Steffen Greenlee, who taught Jenna for 10 years from when she was 8 years old to when she graduated high school at 18. Jenna loved that Teresa taught with compassion but pushed Jenna to have high expectations for herself. Because of this, Jenna wants to be the kind of teacher Teresa is, and Teresa inspired her in many different ways outside of music. Jenna hopes to help her students achieve their goals and nurture their love of music the way Teresa did for her.
