About Isabella Lowe
Isabella Lowe is a Trumpet and Piano Instructor based in the DMV. She is currently completing her music degree at George Mason University. Prior to enrolling at GMU, Isabella studied music for three years at Northern Virginia Community College.
Isabella has studied from a wide variety of trumpet instructors to broaden her musical perspective. With a robust background in classical music, Isabella has recently turned her attention to the jazz idiom. She has also taught privately since 2019. She enjoys seeing her piano and trumpet students reach new heights in their study, and she follows a traditional curriculum approach. He biggest hope for her students is that she is part of helping them find the joy and fun in learning to play an instrument.
In high school, Isabella participated in many different music ensembles, which included musical pit orchestra, symphony orchestra, concert band and marching band. Her passion led her to audition and perform with honor bands as well as performing with the Jersey Surf World Class Drum Corps in 2017.
While at NVCC, Isabella took courses in piano and continued studying trumpet privately. At NVCC, Isabella performed with both the NVCC Orchestra and Band, where she served as principal trumpet. Outside of school, Isabella has also performed professionally with the Annandale Brass, and with the St. Mark's Players pit orchestra for a production of Gypsy in Washington, D.C. Isabella was a finalist in the NVCC Concerto Competition. She has taught at the Music at NOVA summer band camps for 2 years.
At Mason, Isabella performs with the 8th GM Regiment Band, GMU Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos, Braddock Road Brass Band and Trumpet ensemble. She served as principal trumpet in the GMU Brass Ensemble and co-principal of the Wind Symphony. She looks forward to continuing an active performance and teaching career as she shares the joy of music with others.
