About Harry Wilder
Harry Wilder is a guitarist and multi-instrumental music instructor who grew up in the DC area and fell in love with the music scene from an early age. Whether he was hauling gear to a show with his friends or jamming out with them in the basement, music quickly became a big part of his life, and this remain true today. In high school and after the first year of college, Harry spent the summers working within a camp program that focused on providing a typical summer camp experience to children with developmental differences, which included time in the arts program.
Harry Graduated from Skidmore College in 2016 with a degree in psychology, having studied the psychological and neurological processes associated with reading music. While earning his degree, he also completed extensive music program course-work and performed with the Skidmore Guitar Ensemble. He has the opportunity to study classical and jazz guitar, banjo, bass guitar, and drums. A few years after college, Harry found himself in a management position at a local distillery in Rockville where he started a live music program that featured local artists and small touring acts.
Currently, Harry is a full-time music instructor and has worked with students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds. He loves creating and adapting exercises to suit each student's specific needs. His interest in the psychological and therapeutic benefits of learning to play an instrument helps drive his passion for teaching others. In addition to teaching, Harry writes his own songs and performs in the MoCo area.
