About Geoff Sawyer
Geoff Sawyer has provided private and classroom music instruction in a variety of contexts for over thirty years. Although his early background focused on rock and blues styles with guitar, piano, and voice, he has taught and performed multiple guitar styles as well as piano, and has additionally provided training in applied music theory and improvisation. His primary specialty is classical guitar, having performed in many weddings and special events since the 1980's; however, he also has performed jazz styles, and played in various contexts over the years. Additionally, Geoff has directed choir and small
ensembles, composed and arranged music in various styles and contexts, and has performed as a guitarist and singer on several studio recordings. He presently leads a contemporary worship band in his local church.
