About Gabriela Garza
Gabriela Garza is a Mexican conductor and percussionist. She is currently in her second year of doctoral studies at the University of Washington.
Gabriela holds a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting and a Bachelor in Music Performance with emphasis in percussion from the University of New Mexico
Over the past couple of years, Gabriela has conducted multiple orchestras, university ensembles, chamber groups, concerto competitions and opera performances. She has guest conducted internationally for several orchestras such as the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony of Albuquerque and the UANL Philharmonic Orchestra in Monterrey, Mexico.
As a percussionist Gabriela began her studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León back in 2009. Since then, she has performed extensively in a wide variety of ensembles and toured around the continent. She has performed in wind ensembles, symphony orchestras, steel band, Mexican marimba bands, Latin popular groups, and world-percussion groups.
