About Emily Ranttila
Emily Ranttila is a classically trained pianist, voice teacher, and music educator. She has been teaching piano and general elementary music for 5 years in the Northern Virginia Area. Ms. Ranttila has also worked with numerous high school marching bands as an assistant director, visual and music technician, and guest technician. Ms. Ranttila is a vocal ensemble accompanist, and has been accompanying school choirs since 2013 in Vermont, Virginia, New Jersey, and Ohio. Ms. Ranttila received her Bachelor's of Music from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. While there, she studied vocal and instrumental music education. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a professional women's music fraternity. Ms. Ranttila was also a proud member of the marching band, playing alto saxophone, for all of her high school and college years.
When not making music, Ms. Ranttila enjoys running and being outside. She has done numerous races including 5k, 10k, 10-mile, and half marathon distances. Ms. Ranttila enjoys lounging with her 2 cats and dog. She loves to travel, especially around the east coast, to see her family as often as she can.
