About Daniel Hofman

Dan Hofman first learned music at age five, where he took his first piano lessons from a local teacher in Agoura Hills, California. Years later in Middle school, Dan chose the French Horn as his choice of instrument for school band, setting up the path which would take him into professional life.

Moving to New York and studying with many phenomenal musicians, including his private teacher, Mr. David Jolley, Dan attended The Mannes College of Music for six years, first receiving a Bachelors in Music and then a Masters in Music, gaining a detailed education in performance and other musical specialties.

Located in the Houston area, Dan now teaches a wide age range of French Horn students from beginners just learning what a french horn is, to high school students looking to make music a career. With a strong emphasis on fundamentals, Dan's lessons focus on improving the students overall bond with music, as well as developing deeper perception so that the student can form their own musical identity. He believes that the coupling of technique and understanding motivates the student to pursue music at their own whim, which is the best way to encourage permanent growth, and lasting enjoyment.
