About Christian Ibanez
Christian Ibanez was born and raised in Houston, TX. He began playing viola at the age of 10 and cello at the age of 13. A recent graduate from the University of Houston, Christian earned Cum Laude Honors upon the completion of his degree in Cello Performance at the Moores School of Music, studying with Vagram Saradjian, a notable student of Mstislav Rostropovich. While at the Moores School of Music, he has performed with the Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Ballet Orchestra, and Opera Orchestra. Christian plans to pursue his Masters in Music in the near future.
Christian has performed in masterclasses for Suren Bagratuni, Yang Li, and James Dunham during his years as an undergrad. While actively performing and teaching throughout the Houston area, Christian also performs as a member of the Clear Lake Symphony Orchestra. Christian has also participated in concerts with groups such as the Galveston Symphony and the Texas Medical Center Orchestra. He was selected to be a part of the Miami Music Festival Symphony Orchestra for the summer of 2018, and has traveled to Armenia to participate in the Aragats International Music Festival during the summer of 2019.
