About Carly Smith
Carly Noelle Smith is a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. She started becoming interested in music at the age of ten when her mother had given her a guitar for Christmas. From those first musical moments, her interest and love for music grew into a life ambition. Carly studied guitar and thoroughly enjoys learning various contemporary songs and performing them with her sister at various community events.
Billy Joel was her inspiration to take up piano, and when she received a keyboard in high school she decided to fully dedicate her time and energy to becoming a professional musician.
While at Jacksonville State, she earned scholarships for both classical piano and jazz piano. She got to perform with various ensembles around campus. College introduced her to the vast world of classical music and she fell in love with the music of various artist including Claude Debussy and Edvard Grieg. She enjoyed playing in a group setting where she got to collaborate with other musicians. She also got to perform with the Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners, at various locations including the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Currently, Carly enjoys playing local shows, writing original music, and continuing to further her classical music portfolio.
