About Benjamin Dorsey
Ben Dorsey hails from the beautiful Monterey Bay in sunny California, where he began playing violin at the age of ten. He studied privately with Rochelle Walton and Farkhad Khudyev before attending the University of California- Santa Cruz, where he studied with Roy Malan. He has a passion for early music and "period" instruments (by which early music was originally played) and has taken up baroque violin, studying the instrument with renowned early musician David Wilson.
Ben's greatest loves are music and education, thus he seeks ultimate fulfillment through teaching students the art of the violin. His favorite composers are Bach, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Prokofiev, and a few lesser known "early" composers (ask him about them!) from which he draws inspiration as an artist and musician. Ben wishes his best to all aspiring musicians and looks forward to working with any students interested in learning violin.
