About Allan Knighton
Born in Detroit, Michigan, currently residing in Atlanta, Allan Knighton studied music with an emphasis on jazz at Clark Atlanta University (CAU). While attending Clark Atlanta University, Allan played with many artists such as Jennifer Holiday, Jeff Bradshaw, Hornz Unlimited, Christopher Lewis, and George Duke. Allan has also shared stages with ZZ Top, Landau Eugene (America'?s Got Talent Season 6), The Temptations, The Four Tops, Jewel, Kid Rock, Vince Gill, and many more. Recently he founded Mentor Through Music Youth Academy (MTM Youth Academy) LLC, which is a community-based enrichment program for youth that focuses on the positive maturation of children through music education. It is his goal to broaden the understanding of music, its impact on society and education, and foster a positive environment for students to mature. Currently working with youth in Atlanta teaching music and as a full-time saxophonist, Allan wishes to further increase his impact on the world through music education by not allowing limited resources to hinder children's opportunities to gain music instruction.
